MAS Class of 2026 Senior Spotlight: Adan Sebastian Munoz
Looking back on his years at Mission Achievement and Success Charter School, graduating senior Adan Munoz says high school brought challenges that helped him grow. He also values the moments he shared with friends, which he says helped shape who he is today.
“Although some years of high school were challenging, I eventually began to enjoy the experiences I shared with my friends. Those moments taught me the value of friendship, perseverance, and finding joy even during difficult times.”
Adan enrolled at MAS in the fall of 2019 as a 6th grader. When he talks about what he liked best about school, he points to the people. He says both staff members and students helped create a welcoming environment that made his time at MAS feel positive and supportive.

Adan’s advice to incoming freshmen reflects the perspective he gained over the years.
“I would advise incoming high school freshmen to take their first years of high school just as seriously as their final year, because every year of high school is important in shaping their future.”
After high school, Adan plans to attend Central New Mexico Community College, where he will study software development as preparation for a career in the tech sector.
One of the biggest life lessons he says he learned during high school is the importance of perseverance and staying committed to his goals, even when challenges arise — which will serve him well in college and later on when he enters the evolving tech sector.
Looking ahead 10 years, Adan sees himself working as a software developer and exploring systems that can make a positive impact on people’s lives.
“Ten years from now, I hope to be surrounded by the people I love and care about, including my family, friends, and pets.”
In those years ahead, Adan also plans to live in a cooler climate, possibly in a place like Canada, and he wants to own a comfortable home.
Outside of school, Adan spends time drawing, and he also enjoys video games. When he needs to clear his mind, he goes for walks. He says these hobbies have helped him express creativity, relax, and reflect, all of which supported his personal growth. When he is dining out, Adan’s go-to restaurant is Chili’s — which has a few Canadian locations — where mozzarella sticks are his favorite order.
Adan says the person he admires most is his mother. He credits her resilience and her commitment to helping others, even when life is busy, as a powerful example that continues to motivate him.
Adan Munoz leaves MAS with a clearer sense of direction and the determination to keep moving forward. With college plans in place and long-term goals already taking shape, he is ready for the next chapter.
