Showing up on time became a habit that mattered to the next member of the Class of 2026. After enrolling at Mission Achievement and Success Charter School in the fall of 2022 as a 9th grader, Cynthia Delgado says the habits she built in high school helped sharpen her focus and shape the goals she plans to pursue next.

Cynthia also says her teachers made a lasting difference in her learning experience.

"What I liked best about attending MAS is how much the teachers genuinely care about my learning. They supported me, encouraged me to do my best, and reminded me never to give up. I also really appreciate the opportunity to build meaningful friendships along the way.”

She says those friendships became an important part of her high school journey and contributed to the memories she will carry forward.

When Cynthia shares advice for incoming freshmen, she emphasizes the value of taking each day seriously and being open to guidance. “I would tell incoming freshmen to always be on time, stay focused during lessons, and listen to their teachers.”

“Teachers genuinely want the best for you and can be a great source of support and guidance when you need it. ~ Cynthia Janeth Delgado”

Outside of school, Cynthia enjoys listening to music and watching movies. Spending time with friends has also been important to her, and she says those moments gave her happiness while offering meaningful ways to connect and relax. In her spare time, she also enjoys going out to eat with friends, and she likes drawing or coloring. She also values spending time with her younger sister. Cynthia says these activities have been healthy emotional outlets and they have supported her creativity while strengthening relationships.

Cynthia told us that one of the most important life lessons she learned in high school is choosing the right friends, since the people around you can influence your life. She also learned the value of prioritizing education because it plays a major role in shaping the future and supporting long-term goals.

After high school, Cynthia plans to attend Central New Mexico Community College, where she will major in nursing. She says this path supports her dream of working in the medical field and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Looking 10 years ahead, Cynthia plans to own a home and a vehicle. She also plans to be established in nursing while continuing to grow personally and professionally. Travel is also part of her long-term vision, as she wants to experience different cultures.

Cynthia says she admires her mom because she never gives up. She shared that her mom consistently supports Cynthia and her sister. She also guides them toward making good decisions and works hard so they can receive a good education.

When eating out, Chick-fil-A is her favorite restaurant. Her go-to order is the Spicy Chicken Deluxe meal, and she says it is something she always enjoys.

As she looks ahead, Cynthia says she plans to carry what she learned into the future while staying connected to the friendships that supported her.

“Looking ahead, I hope to use everything I’ve learned to become a successful professional while continuing to value and maintain the friendships that have supported me throughout my journey. I am also grateful for all the memories and the wonderful people I met here at MAS. I wish all of you a successful life.”

Cynthia leaves MAS with clear plans and a steady sense of purpose. The MAS community is excited to see her step into nursing and the future she is working toward.
