Joshua Rodriguez enrolled at Mission Achievement and Success Charter School in fall 2019 as a 6th grader. Over nearly seven years, he found his place by connecting with the people around him and developing healthy routines that helped him stay focused.

Joshua is a student who enjoys meeting new people and getting to know his classmates. Physical education classes also stood out to him at MAS and brought extra energy to his school day.

When we asked Joshua for his best advice to incoming freshmen, he was simple and direct.

"Be attentive from the very beginning, as your GPA is important and can have a lasting impact on your academic opportunities and future plans."

Outside of school, Joshua spends time with friends and enjoys playing video games. He also goes to church and says that part of his life has strengthened him. He shared that friends have taught him lessons, and church has helped him grow as a person and pay attention to his values.

High school also taught Joshua how to think about effort and growth.

"I learned to take advantage of every opportunity and learn from mistakes, since both help you grow and become a better person."

After high school graduation, Joshua plans to attend UEI College and study HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning). Looking ahead 10 years, he plans to start his own HVAC business with his brother. He also plans to start a family and build his own home.

Joshua says the person he admires most is his brother, who supports him, teaches him new skills, and helps him stay close to his faith, which is very important to him.

Joshua has a go-to meal when he dines out. He likes Wingstop, and he usually orders original hot boneless wings.

Joshua also shared appreciation for the people who helped him get to this point.

"I am grateful to God and my family for helping me develop the discipline needed to navigate my high school journey and reach this point. Their support has kept me motivated and positive throughout, allowing me to persevere and succeed."

Joshua Rodriguez’s plans reflect focus and follow-through. We look forward to seeing him build his skills at the next level and take steps toward the business he wants to own and operate one day.
