Creativity has played an important role in Naile Aguilar’s journey at Mission Achievement and Success Charter School, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After enrolling in the 5th grade, she spent nearly eight years developing confidence while building friendships that made her experience meaningful.

Outside of school, Naile enjoys artistic activities that allow her to express herself. She spends time drawing and painting and even creates nail designs. Painting in particular has given her a creative outlet where she can share her thoughts and emotions. She also played soccer for the Lady Bulls, and that experience helped her build confidence while improving how she communicates what she is experiencing.

For Naile, one of the best parts of attending MAS for middle school and high school has been the people she met along the way. The friendships she built during high school have been especially meaningful to her, she says. She also shared that those friendships helped her through mental and emotional challenges, and she remains grateful for the support they gave each other along the way.

When reflecting on her time in high school, Naile encourages incoming freshmen to stay focused on what is best for them. “I would encourage them to avoid distractions and surround themselves with people who truly want to see them succeed.”

After graduating in May, Naile plans to study psychology at The University of New Mexico. She then plans to work in the field to gain experience and continue building her career. Looking ahead ten years, she wants to be working full-time as a psychologist in her own practice and starting a family.

Naile says one of the people she admires most is her father. She respects his determination and the way he continues working toward his goals even when challenges arise. His dedication and perseverance have made a lasting impression on her and continue to inspire her.

When she is in the mood for something to eat, Naile keeps it simple. She loves sandwiches and enjoys Chick-fil-A because she says their sandwiches are always fresh and delicious.

Naile’s journey reflects creativity and the friendships that supported her along the way. The MAS community wishes her continued success as she begins the next chapter of her story.
