Q&A WITH FERNANDO

MAS: What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?

FERNANDO: “Focus on school. Research the colleges you’re interested in and understand what they require. Look into scholarships early and take the SAT seriously. And definitely take advantage of the dual-college credit classes.”

MAS: What did you like best about attending MAS?

FERNANDO: “I liked the emphasis on preparing us for college, and the friendships — it feels more like a family with my peers.”

MAS: Who is someone you admire and why?

FERNANDO: “My mom. She works hard and never gives up, no matter what.”

MAS: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

FERNANDO: “I’d like to be married and living somewhere in South America. I love the greenery and the food. I hope to own two paid-off cars — a Porsche 911 Turbo and a classic ’61 Impala.”

MAS: Favorite local meal?

FERNANDO: “Stuffed sopapillas from El Modelo — I love them.”

Fernando’s confidence, practical mindset, and strong sense of independence make him another standout in the Class of 2025. As he takes his next steps into college and beyond, we’re excited to see where his creativity and drive will take him.
