MEET THE CLASS OF 2025 — JINESSA MONTOYA
Our next senior spotlight shines on a student-athlete who brings drive, focus, and a strong sense of discipline to her daily life. Over her years at MAS, she found community and personal growth through basketball, developed a love for sneaker culture, and balanced school with a part-time job — all while earning college credits through our Dual College Credit Program. She’s thoughtful about her future, determined to find the right path for herself, and is ready to take on the next chapter with confidence and clarity. Meet Jinessa, in her own words…
Enrolled at MAS: August 2018 (6th grade)
Post-High School Plans: Continuing her education at CNM while completing prerequisites and exploring degree options
Passions and Hobbies: Playing basketball, collecting Jordans, and working at a local shoe store
Life Lesson: "Pay attention and stay strong from the beginning — your GPA and effort in freshman year really do matter in the long run."
Q&A WITH JINESSA
MAS: What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
JINESSA: "Take high school seriously from day one. Your GPA makes a difference in what colleges and scholarships will be available to you."
MAS: What did you like best about attending MAS?
JINESSA: "I liked that we didn't have homework — it let me enjoy life outside school, focus fully on my college classes, and work to support myself financially."
MAS: Who inspires you the most?
JINESSA: "My mom. She’s always supported me, led me in the right direction, and never gave up on me. She’s pushed me to be the best version of myself."
MAS: Fast-forward 10 years… where do you see yourself?
JINESSA: "I want to own a big, beautiful house and be successful in whatever career I decide to pursue."
MAS: Favorite restaurant in town?
JINESSA: "Olive Garden — I usually order the Chicken Alfredo."
As Jinessa prepares to graduate, we celebrate her persistence, her thoughtful approach to growth, and her vision for the future. Whether she’s collecting sneakers or shaping a new path forward in college, she’s doing it with style, intention, and strength. Stay tuned for more stories from the MAS Class of 2025.
