This week, we’re proud to spotlight 10 exceptional students from our Old Coors campus who have earned Student of the Week honors. These students have demonstrated compassion, focus, academic effort, and a commitment to personal growth. Please join us in celebrating their achievements. Tiffany Templeton – Old Coors PreK Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Tiffany has grown tremendously this school year. She consistently stays on task, shows courage in new situations, and treats others with love and respect. Her self-control and steady participation set a strong example for her peers. Great job, Tiffany!

Ana Paula Ibarra Nunez – Old Coors Kindergarten Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Ana Paula is a friend to everyone she meets. Her kindness, warmth, and inclusive spirit create a welcoming environment for her classmates.

Miguel Solis – Old Coors 1st Grade Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Miguel exemplifies the MAS Fundamental of continuous improvement. He has made significant strides in reading and recently earned a perfect score in math. His hard work and dedication are truly inspiring. Way to go, Miguel! Keep up the amazing work — you’re on a roll.

Arwyn Kroecker – Old Coors 2nd Grade Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Arwyn has been relentless in his pursuit of improvement. With perfect attendance and consistent effort, he’s become a model of commitment and perseverance.

Jose Mejia – Old Coors 3rd Grade Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Jose shows what it means to honor commitments. He listens, follows through on tasks, and overcomes challenges with determination and focus.

Julian Chavez – Old Coors 4th Grade Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Julian has made tremendous progress and is showing great improvement. Keep up the excellent work, Julian!

Amairani Caro – Old Coors 5th Grade Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Amairani consistently shows compassion to her classmates. Her kindness and care for others help foster a supportive classroom culture.

Mateo Yanez Hernandez – Old Coors 6th Grade Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Mateo is an attentive listener and active participant. His self-discipline and ability to stay on task make him a strong contributor to this cohort’s culture and achievements.

Erik Quintana – Old Coors 7th Grade Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Erik has made impressive strides in both his academic and personal growth. His commitment to improving himself each day is worth celebrating.

Alycia Ogden – Old Coors 8th Grade Student of the Week (April 28–May 2, 2025): Alycia’s compassion shines through in every area of school life. She treats her peers with care and sets a strong example in the classroom.

Meet The Team — Mr. Devon Myers, Substitute Teacher/Escort

In a School Kitchen on Christmas Morning, a Different Kind of Lesson

On Christmas morning, while most of Albuquerque was still quiet, the lights were already on inside a state-of-the-art kitchen at MAS Charter School’s Old Coors campus. The work was part of an annual effort led by ABQ Give Grub, a mutual aid collective of local artists and musicians that has served hundreds of people on Christmas Day for the past eight years.
