Today, we’re extremely proud to spotlight 11 exceptional students from our Yale campus who exemplify the values and fundamentals that define MAS Charter School. From PreK through 11th grade, these students embody attributes like integrity, determination, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. Join us in celebrating their achievements and check back later in the week for our Old Coors winners.
Ja'Zia Paschall – Yale PreK Student of the Week: Shoutout to Ja'Zia for working hard and showing great improvement in her literacy skills. She participates across many subjects and brings her best effort every day. Keep it up, Ja'Zia… Kindergarten will be lucky to have you!
Tenali Najarro Santos – Yale Kindergarten Student of the Week: Tenali consistently delivers outstanding results. She completes all her assignments on time and does so with excellence. She’s a quiet leader in group settings, always following expectations and stepping up to help others without being asked. Her strong work ethic, kindness, and initiative make her a standout. Way to go, Tenali!
Hannah Murphy – Yale 2nd Grade Student of the Week: Hannah is a model of integrity, always doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. From sitting in accordance with our SLANT initiative without reminders to standing up for her classmates, she leads with quiet strength. Your leadership makes a difference, Hannah!
Yaretzi Rodriguez – Yale 3rd Grade Student of the Week: Yaretzi leads with kindness and patience, even when things get tricky. She stays focused, supports her classmates, and models the right choices day in and day out. We’re proud of you, Yaretzi!
Avery Tafoya – Yale 4th Grade Student of the Week: Avery stands out for consistently doing the right thing and encouraging others to do the same. She follows directions, helps her peers, and brings a spirit of teamwork to the classroom every day.
Katie Orona – Yale 5th Grade Student of the Week: Katie shows courage every single day. She’s not afraid to be herself and stand tall in her values. Her bravery and authenticity inspire us all. We’re so proud of you, Katie!
Geraldine Villalba – Yale 6th Grade Student of the Week: Geraldine brings her best effort no matter the situation. She asks questions, stays focused, and pushes through distractions with determination. Keep making quality personal, Geraldine!
Rehnia Joseph – Yale 8th Grade Student of the Week: Rehnia’s responsiveness sets her apart. She’s quick to participate in class and brings that same energy to the court as a student-athlete. Your focus and hustle don’t go unnoticed!
Martin Garcia – Yale 9th Grade Student of the Week: We are proud to recognize Martin as this week’s 9th Grade Student of the Week. Martin exemplifies compassion in action through his consistent kindness and willingness to help others. Whether he’s staying behind to clean the gym after lunch or stepping in to support peers and staff, Martin leads with humility and heart. His positive attitude and everyday generosity make our school a better place. Thank you, Martin!
Dante Vargas – Yale 10th Grade Student of the Week – not pictured: We’re excited to celebrate Dante for consistently demonstrating courage and integrity. He’s an active participant in class discussions, asks insightful questions, and stays true to his values, even when it’s not the easy choice. Dante has quiet confidence and uplifts those around him, all while staying focused on his personal growth. Your thoughtful leadership is appreciated, Dante; keep it up!
Adolfo Guzman – Yale 11th Grade Student of the Week: Adolfo is taking initiative to seek clarity and meet expectations with excellence. He proactively seeks clarification and demonstrates a clear understanding of classroom norms. He’s focused, thoughtful, and committed to getting things right the first time. Keep it up, Adolfo!
