The School Day at MAS

A Structured, Engaging, and Supportive Learning Environment

At MAS Charter School, we provide a school day that maximizes learning, supports student well-being, and ensures families have access to essential resources. With a longer school day, free before and after school programs, and a structured bell schedule, MAS students benefit from an academic experience that sets them up for success in college and beyond.

Bell Schedule (2025-2026)

At MAS, we use a block schedule to allow for in-depth instruction and extended learning time in each subject area. Beginning in kindergarten, students have four (4) classes approximately every 90 minutes to engage with multiple subjects throughout the day.

School Hours & Daily Schedule

2025-2026 Instructional Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:41 p.m.

2025-2026 Instructional Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 3:41 p.m.

Student Arrival: Students are encouraged to arrive between 7:30 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. to eat free breakfast before the school day begins.

Dismissal: All students are dismissed by 3:41 p.m. to bus transportation, parent pickup, sports activities, or the after-school program.

Both MAS campuses (Yale and Old Coors) offer:

  • Free before-school program: Drop-off available as early as 7:30 a.m.
  • Free after-school program: Runs until 6 p.m., including structured activities and a free evening meal.

To help ensure a smooth dismissal process, we ask that parents picking up students from the after-school program wait until at least 4 p.m. before arriving. This allows us to efficiently manage our standard dismissal process before transitioning to after-school activities.

What is SEL?

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is an integral part of the MAS way and school day.

These dedicated SEL blocks help students develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, decision-making skills, and healthy relationships — each of which is considered critical skills for success in school and life.

Before & After School Programs

Free Before-School Program

  • Available at both the Yale and Old Coors campuses.
  • 2025-2026 School Year: Open as early as 7:30 a.m. to accommodate family schedules.
  • Includes structured morning activities and free breakfast.

Free After-school Program

  • Runs until 6 p.m.
  • Provides structured activities, educational support, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Includes a free evening meal for participating students.
  • Parents should plan for pickup between 4-6 p.m. to allow for smooth daily dismissal transitions.

For elementary students, any changes to their usual after-school dismissal plan must be communicated to the front desk by 2 p.m. to ensure proper dismissal arrangements.

A School Day Designed for Student Success

At MAS, our structured, high-expectations school day ensures that students receive comprehensive instruction, social-emotional learning support, and access to essential services that help them thrive.
