Mission Achievement and Success Charter School (hereafter “MAS,” “MAS Charter School,” “we,” “our,” “ours,” and “us”) is furnishing this Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) to (“you,” “your,” and “their”), to explain how we collect, use, and share information that is capable of being associated with — or could reasonably be linked directly or indirectly with — a particular consumer or household (“Personal Information”).

Personal information does not include information which is publicly available, anonymized or aggregated, and other information which is excluded from the scope of applicable privacy laws.

It is our objective to collect, use, and protect your Personal Information gathered through this website in a responsible manner, whether we do so in the context of interacting with our website visitors, accepting applications for new students, providing information to our community members, managing our employees and contractors, or accepting employment applications to join our team of educators and support team professionals (collectively, the “Services”).

Our Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use, applicable law, and other agreements with you (e.g., our agreements with families) together govern our relationship as it relates to your Personal Information. Our collection, use, and sharing of Personal Information will vary based on our relationship or interaction with you. Through your use of and by engaging in the Services, you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy and consent to the data collection, use, and sharing we describe in this Policy.

Categories & Sources of Information

We collect, use, and share Personal Information from various sources to perform the Services and to accomplish our business and commercial purposes and business objectives. You supply most of the Personal Information in our possession, whether directly when you or your authorized agent provide the information to us so that we can provide Services, or indirectly from the collection or generation of information in the course of our provision of Services. Should you choose not to provide some of the Personal Information we request, we may be unable to provide you with one or more of the Services.

Internet Users. If you use our website or any of its subdomains or subdirectories, you may provide contact and other information (e.g., through our “Contact” form or “Website Feedback”) to enable us to furnish you with information about education and education services for individuals, and our other Services. You also may provide contact and other information when using email outside of our website. Automatic Data Collection. We collect certain information when you use our website or Services. This information may include your internet protocol (“IP”) address, cookie identifiers, mobile carrier, website browser and version, operating system or device, location information, internet service provider, pages that you visit and links you click on our website, and other information about how you use our website. Information we collect may be associated with accounts and other devices.

Anonymized or Aggregated Information. We record certain anonymized or aggregated information about your use or evaluation of our website. Anonymized or aggregated information is used for a variety of functions, including the measurement of interest in and use of various portions or features of our website. Anonymized or aggregated information is not Personal Information, and we may use such information in a number of ways, including internal analysis. Students. The type of Personal Information we collect that relate to prospective or current MAS students varies depending on the student and matter. It may include information related to a student’s age or grade level, and other information that may be relevant for the matter. We may collect information such as personal identifiers (e.g., name, contact information); characteristics (e.g., academic history); and other personal information (e.g., account information for applying to our school); internet or network activity information (e.g., browsing history and interactions with our websites). We may collect information directly from you when you or your authorized agent provide the information to us, as well as indirectly through your activities on our website (e.g., submissions through our website contact forms) and through our provision of Services.

How We Use Personal Information

We may use or share personal information to provide Services and to accomplish our public charter purposes and objectives, including the following:

  • To meet the reason(s) you provided the information and to administer and perform the Services;
  • To engage in marketing and school admissions development, including without limitation to provide information concerning educational services;
  • To provide, maintain, personalize and develop our website, databases, network, infrastructure, devices, assets and Services;
  • To debug, including to identify and repair technical errors that impair intended functionalities;
  • To perform security functions, including to detect security breaches, protect against fraud and malicious activities, and take action against wrongdoers;
  • To serve and protect the rights, property, or safety of our students, employees, us, or others, as necessary or appropriate;
  • To perform auditing and due diligence functions, including without limitation for purposes of accepting prospective students;
  • To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, sale, transfer or other transaction concerning some or all of our assets; and
  • To respond to governmental authorities, including law enforcement requests, and as required by applicable law, court order, or regulations.

How We Share Personal Information

We will not share or disclose your Personal Information except as follows:

No Renting, Selling or Trading Your Personal Information. We will never rent, sell, or trade your Personal Information to unaffiliated third parties, such as sellers of goods or services, for their own business or commercial purposes.

Sharing with Service Providers. There are circumstances in which we may share your Personal Information with non-affiliated third-party service providers, including to perform business and technology related functions and to support the provision of the Services. For example, we may use third-party providers to provide services such as a secure online portal for parent and family use only. We require these third parties to maintain the privacy and security of the Personal Information they access.

Website and Social Media. We may share select images of our students and the professional experience of our employees and partners on our website and through social media platforms.

Disclosure in the Event of Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, purchase or sale of assets, or transition of service to another provider, then your Personal Information may be transferred as part of such a transaction, as permitted by law and/or written agreements between you and us.

You may decline to provide Personal Information to us. Declining to provide Personal Information may mean that we will be unable to provide Services to you (e.g., educational services, website features that require Personal Information).

Opting out of Email Marketing Communications. We may use your Personal Information to communicate with you about MAS developments, education, and website postings that we believe will be of interest and beneficial to you. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive administrative or marketing communications from us, please follow the “unsubscribe” instructions provided in the communication.

Security

We take reasonable steps, endeavoring to use appropriate technical or organizational measures, to protect your Personal Information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no Internet, email, or electronic operating system that enables the transmission of data is ever fully secure or error free. Therefore, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.

Social Media and Links to Other Web Sites

This Privacy Policy and these terms apply only to our website, Services, and practices. Our website may contain links to other websites, applications, social media platforms, and information for your convenience that are not operated or controlled by us. We do not control linked third-party websites or their privacy practices, which may differ from those set out in this Privacy Policy. Any Personal Information you choose to give to linked third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any company or website before submitting your Personal Information.

Our Use & Collection of Mobile / Cell Numbers Via our Online Contact Form

We respect your privacy. By opting into our SMS messaging service when submitting our online contact form via our website, you agree to the following terms regarding how we handle your data:

Data Collection: We will collect your name, email address, and mobile phone number when you sign up for SMS updates. The information will be collected via the website contact form, application for student enrollment, and direct contact with our office.

Data Usage: We use your data solely for updates, reminders, confirmations, and other related messages; responses to requests for support and service; other prospective and existing student-related communications.

Data Security: We protect your data with secure storage measures to prevent unauthorized access.

Data Retention: We retain your information as long as you are affiliated with us and are subscribed to our SMS service. You may request deletion at any time.

Message and Data Rates May Apply: Your mobile carrier may charge fees for sending or receiving text messages, especially if you do not have an unlimited texting or data plan.

Messages are recurring, and message frequency varies.

Opt-Out: You can opt out of the SMS list at any time by texting, emailing, or replying STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to records@mascharterschool.com or (505) 242-3118. After unsubscribing, you will receive a final SMS to confirm you have unsubscribed and we will remove your number from our list within 24 hours.

Non-Sharing Clause: We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. MAS will not sell, rent, or share collected mobile numbers — meaning, we will not transfer or disclose the mobile numbers we collect to any third parties for commercial purposes, including selling them, renting them out, or providing them to other companies for marketing or other uses.

Children Under Age 13

We will not intentionally collect Personal Information about any person under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected or received Personal Information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental/guardian consent, we will delete that information.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as we deem necessary at our sole discretion. If there are any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you as required by applicable law. We may provide supplemental or updated privacy notices on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing your Personal Information. Such supplemental privacy notices should be read together with this Privacy Policy.
